How to Get a Credit Card Anonymously (Credit Cards as a Service)

TLDR: you can get and use a virtual credit card anonymously by ordering it with XMR, redeeming and using it all while never leaving the Tor browser

Introduction

With the growing economy and increasingly aggressive marketing, every company is competing to earn your business. There are no shortages of ways to spend your hard-earned money, but you may not always want to have your purchases tied to your real identity. For in person purchases, there is the obvious choice of cash as no information about you is recorded. However, online is a different story. E-commerce is heavily reliant on the use of credit cards, which leave a digital trail of metadata that ties back to you, is shared with third parties and is repackaged and sold to data brokers. Some forward-thinking vendors accept cryptocurrency but given online markets as a whole, this is still relatively niche. If your preferred method of buying something is Monero and your target vendor doesn't accept Monero, wouldn't it be great if you could still just use Monero anyway? In this article, we will explore how to obtain an anonymous prepaid card for Monero using XMR.CARDS, redeem and spend it all within the Tor browser.

All steps listed below are to be done via the Tor browser, in order to preserve our anonymity.

Obtaining the Card

Using the Tor Browser, navigate to https://xmr.cards and click on either the Tor button or the .onion address redirection header. For simplicity, their onion address is http://xmrcards7pb5dnj5dfbnueigmzwgujwlo5zhd6f3vnlhay6qlbd3dzid.onion/.

Under the Brands section, select Rewarble Visa USD. You can filter by United States and Prepaid Cards to narrow down the list or you can use Ctrl+F to find it more quickly.

Enter your desired amount and click Create Order. Note that XMR.CARDS takes an 8% fee.

Our order has been created. Click on Show payment details to see the recipient address and amount to be sent.

With the required information in hand, we are now ready to send payment.

In our Monero wallet, we input the information and finalize the payment.

After 10 confirmations, our payment is complete. Note the warning at the top of the page saying that due to a high demand, our card may not be ready instantly. Save this page URL and check back in 24 hours.

Checking back after 24 hours, we see the card information is ready. Our gift card code and pin code are now displayed. If you wish to generate a PDF simply click the GENERATE PDF WITH BARCODE button.

Navigate to https://rewarble.com/signin. After completing the captcha, enter your anonymous email, and click Send me a login link.

In your email inbox, you will receive an email from Rewarble. Copy the link from the Rewarble email and paste it into the Tor browser to sign in to the Rewarble dashboard.

Once signed in to the Rewarble Dashboard, click on Redeem in the top right corner.

Enter the 16 digit code from the URL you saved earlier. You can find this information under the $gift_card_code section. Alternatively, if you generated a PDF this information is listed there as well. Next, click Redeem Now.

There are several options of cards available and any of them is fine to select. In this article, we will select the Anonimy Visa and click on Create Anonimy Visa.

In creating the card you will notice Rewarble also takes a fee and our total card value is reduced as a result.

Fill out the basic information on screen and click Next. Note the warning at the top: some of the information is optional but details may be required in some cases.

Fill out the address information and click Confirm.

Our card is ready! Note that it is only valid for 7 days (though can be extended), so better use it quickly.

Using the Card

The card can be used with any non-3DS payment processor. Since only a small amount of money was loaded for demonstration purposes, let's donate the remaining balance to ensure that everything works as intended.

Click the Donate button and you'll shortly receive an on-screen confirmation. Additional, you'll receive an email notification.

Conclusion

We've managed to get and use a prepaid Visa credit card anonymously using XMR, all while never leaving the Tor browser.

Note that XMR.CARDS charges an 8% fee and Rewarble charges some fees as well according to the image below for the Anonimy Visa card. Anonymity is achievable using this method but has some minor costs.
